Fabulous Finds

We thought we would share the wonderful items we purchased on the weekend. We were lucky to have our stall next to Un Ceilo ‘One Sky’ – hand printed tshirts and cards and on our other side we had an old friend of ours, Tess with her Teahouse Handmade  range of earrings and badges.

We bought:

Only Midge – ‘Molly’ cloth purse (pattern ss09j)

Corky Saint Clair – Harmonica Necklace (i couldn’t resist the quirkyness)

Pigeon Hole – Laurel Leaves silver ring

We loved:

A skulk of foxes – jewellery

White Square – cool brooches

Kristina Brenke – I adore these rings…. but alas could not afford :-(

Mother Maria – beautiful fashion

Bespoke Press – and her letterpress prints

Everyone one else there also had some fantastic stuff.

Finders Keepers

Don’t miss out on the upcoming Finders Keepers markets right here in Brisbane.

June 26 & 27th at The Old Museum. We hope to see you there! Click here for more info.

In an instant

One of my favourite stalls at Finders Keepers was In An Instant Photography.  The lovely Jess Pace behind this idea has got herself a creative and quirky business that you can’t say no to. Hire her for your next private or corporate function and enjoy the fun of dressing up and getting your picture taken!

Back from Sydney

Well friends we are back to work this week. We had a fantastic time down at the Finder Keepers market in Sydney. We are happy to say we completely sold out of Mother’s Day cards, along with some of our other card designs. Our new products were a hit and you will be seeing them in our online store very soon. In the meantime, we’ve popped some pictures below of our stall in Sydney, it was extremely busy, we met so many wonderful people and it was a fantastic venue. Thanks again to the FK crew.

Valentine's Day XOXO

Valentine’s Day is literally around the corner. You have approx 6 days to prep for the most romantic date on the calendar. (I do believe the most romantic date on the calendar is another one entirely but lets leave that conversation for another day hehe)

So it’s time to get prepared! Shine up your shoes, pick your outfit and most importantly choose your location where all the romantic action will take place.

Here are some creative ideas we are loving:

1. Say it with cupcakes by Love a Cupcake

2. Embroidery Wall Hanging by Lou Lou and Oscar

3. Capsule Letters by Poketo

4. Flock Screen Print by Naomi Murrell

9 days till Valentine's Day

Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! If you are looking for the perfect card for your loved one, then you have come to the right place! Order now to get your card in time (and to stay in the good books)!

You will also be able to find us at the Boutique Market, Portside on Sunday February 14 if you want to pop down to say hi.

Have a great weekend.

Holidays + Patterns

MonirPattern_web

Happy new year friends – we hope your start to 2010 has been superb.

So whilst we are not “officially” back in the office we thought we should share a little of our holiday fun with you. We’ve recently been visiting GoMA – The Gallery of Modern Art which is located right here in the heart of Brisbane. One of my fave exhibitions is currently on and if you haven’t ever had a chance to check it out then now is the time to do so. The exhibition of which I am speaking is the APT6 – The 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Art. Inspiring artworks from artists in the Asia Pacific region are on display – ranging from painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and installation. This particular APT really feels like one of the best yet. Even if you are not into art you will still be enthralled at what these artists have created.

The above is image is taken from a multimedia installation in which you can create your own pattern of infinity via a touch screen. Learn more about the artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian and her Iranian culture which has led her to this awesome idea.

Holiday Time

xmas_signoff-003

It’s come to that time of year where we sign off, put our feet up and relax… (well maybe not quite) there is still plenty of Christmas shopping to do and Christmas cards to write. One thing is for sure, the Christmas tree is up and decorated – take note of the beautiful wooden decorations I bought for 50c each at some Carols last week. A little old man was selling them, so I bought 12!

Anyhows, it’s been an amazing end of year and 2010 so far promises us to be an even better year!

Thanks for all your support, friendship and kind words. Have a fab Christmas and we will see you again in the new year.

love and blessings,

Tanya & the Messenger Team

ps. we are closing from today until January 11th, we will be in and out of the studio so if there are any urgent orders don’t be alarmed. We will endeavour to get them to you!

Christmas Twilight Market

christmas cards

Did someone say Twilight?

ahh no, I’m not referring to that phenomenon which is the Twilight movie series, I’m talking about the Christmas Twilight Market at Portside. It’s this Friday night, there are a whole load of amazing stalls and best of all there will be plenty of Christmas gift ideas on offer.

So why not come along, enjoy the scenery, grab some food from one of the many fine restaurants, stroll along the river and enjoy an evening that only a city like Brisbane can offer.

Details for the Christmas Twilight market can be found at the Boutique Markets – Portside Wharf website.

Friday 11th December – 5pm – 9pm. We hope to see you there!
