Sauerkraut Typeface

One of my colleagues at Shillington College is part of the People Collective – and they have recently launched a project for a beautiful typeface they have developed called Sauerkraut. If you are into typography and want to support independants like these guys then I urge you to jump on board and pledge some money to help fund their typeface production… and the best part is, by pledging some money you willl receive some lovely presents in return. Good luck guys!

I’m surprised we haven’t told you about The Design Kids yet! It’s an online store where Graphic Designers can sell one-off limited edition pieces. Run by the talented Frances Ratford, be sure to keep your eyes out for The Design Kids at a market or website near you!

Planning for 2011

Well it’s been almost 1 month since our last post and we are excited to say that we are now officially down in Sydney. We are able to relax and start preparing for 2011. We apologise to those of you that have been in contact, we are catching up now and will be back in the full swing of things soon.

We had some very exciting news today which we will share with you shortly. But first off, let’s talk Diaries for 2011. I’m on the hunt for a fabulous diary and I need you guys to help me out. I want something that is beautiful, understated design with a unique point of difference. Here are just a few I have been eyeing off, but if you know of some other diaries worth checking out comment asap!

Type it write

This is a must read for all graphic designers. ‘Type It Write’ A great little publication that demonstrates the proper use of grammar and punctuation. As designers we often forget this side of the job – I’m definitely going to make this a new addition to our office library.

Wooden Toy

One of my favourite magazines in the world is Wooden Toy. Produced and designed by Timba Smits who is an inspiration to all creatives, far and wide. He recently spoke at Semi-Permanent in Melbourne and is also a part of the Gorker Gallery in Fitzroy, Melbourne. If you haven’t purchased a copy then get the latest ‘Music Edition‘  which is out now!!!

Here’s an interesting fact – Timba studied at Shillington College in Melbourne!

Pencil + Paper

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! The weather was fantastic here in Brisbane, although today tells a different story.  Over the weekend I stumbled upon the work of Justin Fuller and I immediately fell in love with his style. Check it out Pencil Plus Paper.

A Beautiful Baby Announcement

This has to be the rolls royce of baby announcements… I fell in love with it as soon as I saw the gorgeous colour, attention to detail and typographic treatment. Oh and the new little bub is cute too :-)

Flowers In May

Another little blog I stumbled upon recently is Flowers In May – a blog about things that we love: stationery & design. Every Thursday be sure to check out ‘Things We Dig’. Another blog added to our reading list.  Happy Friday!

Words & Eggs

I literally stumbled upon this site on google one day and I immediately fell in love. Words & Eggs is brought to you by Lesley who likes French stuff, poets, old books, paper, letters, design and cheese.

Well Lesley, I too love paper, letters, design and old books. We will have to do some swapping one day!
