Shopping at Deus Ex Machina

Well it’s been a while since my last post…. life has been busy in Sydney :-)

We are enjoying life here so much, particularly because there is so much to see and do every day. One place that I like to visit is Deus Ex Machina – If you have never heard of this place then you need to get yourself acquainted! Now. From the outside it pretty much looks like motorbikes and man stuff, however the signage on the outside always intrigued me (mainly because it is very typographic = love) once I peered through the doorway to take a peek inside I discovered a new heaven.

If you’re into appreciating fine machinery, as well as finely made clothing, accessories and artworks then you too will share a love for Deus just like I do.

Ceramics

I am finding myself in love with dainty ceramic bowls and dishes. They seem to make a cute little statement wherever they sit in the house. One ceramic artist who I stumbled across at Bleeding Heart in Brisbane is Kim Aitken. You can see a small selection of her work on display or you can contact Kim direct to discuss other products in stock as well as offering a custom order service. I’m writing my list now….

Felt & Wire Shop

I found this beautiful online store filled with fabulous designed paper goods called ‘Felt & Wire Shop’. If you haven’t come across this shop before, then I do recommend a cup of tea and a few hours set aside for browsing. So many gorgeous prints, cards, calendars, light fittings and diaries… Love this coral Toucan print – I can see it on my wall now.

The Design Kids

I’m surprised we haven’t told you about The Design Kids yet! It’s an online store where Graphic Designers can sell one-off limited edition pieces. Run by the talented Frances Ratford, be sure to keep your eyes out for The Design Kids at a market or website near you!

Falling in love with cushions

Feeling a little obsessive about cushions and have found this beautiful online store Ferm Living

It’s becoming very difficult trying to choose now…

Be Still Homewares

I’ve been searching for some new cushions to go with our new couch… I stumbled upon this online store Be Still Homewares. They’ll be receiving an order from me very soon!

Hello 2011

Well its Friday afternoon and the time is now looming for us all to get over the New Year celebrations, put our credit cards back in to our wallets and get away from the summer sales. As of Monday 10th January, most of us will be back at work once again and a whole new year to get excited about.

What’s in store for you?

We hope this year, we will be able to start revealing some new products both within our online store and at upcoming markets in 2011.

But for now, here’s some lovely type inspiration in the form of a silk screened posted. Via Effective Studio

We apologise to those of you that have been in contact, we are catching up now and will be back in the full swing of things soon.

We had some very exciting news today which we will share with you shortly. But first off, let’s talk Diaries for 2011. I’m on the hunt for a fabulous diary and I need you guys to help me out. I want something that is beautiful, understated design with a unique point of difference. I’ve just fallen in love with this gorgeous grey leather bag by Working Class Heroes. It’s designed to carry laptops amongst other things.

I’m currently working out how to afford the 389 Euros for it… hmmmm
